Students participating in the Dual-Degree Program must complete 30 credits and pass the master's thesis in order to obtain a degree from Doshisha University.
Please note that the required courses vary depending on the major.

ダブル・ディグリープログラムに参加する学生は、同志社大学の学位を取得するために、30単位の修得と修士論文の合格が必要です。
なお、必修科目は専攻ごとに異なりますのでご注意ください。

About Elective Courses
選択科目について

Of the 30 credits required for graduation, students may take up to 12 credits from courses offered by other majors within the Graduate School of Law, courses offered by other graduate schools of Doshisha University, and courses offered by the Institute for Advanced Research and Education.

修了単位30単位のうち、12単位まで、法学研究科の他専攻科目、同志社大学の他研究科科目、および高等研究教育院開講科目を履修することができます。

About Elective Courses
選択科目について

Of the 30 credits required for graduation, students may take up to 16 credits from courses offered by other majors within the Graduate School of Law.
Within this 16-credits limit, students may take up to 8 credits from courses offered by other graduate schools of Doshisha University and by the Institute for Advanced Research and Education.

修了単位30単位のうち、16単位まで、法学研究科の他専攻科目を履修することができます。
また、その16単位の範囲内で、8単位まで他研究科および高等研究教育院開講科目を履修することができます。

Credit Transfer
単位認定

Instructions for the credit transfer application process will be provided in early June (for spring entry) or early November (for fall entry) after your arrival in Japan. Applying for credit transfer is optional. Students who wish to apply must prepare the required documents, including their latest academic transcript from their home university, and submit their application by the specified deadline.
Please note that credit conversion rates are set for each partner university.

単位認定申請方法のご案内は、来日後の6月上旬（春来日）または11月上旬（秋来日）に行います。申請は任意制です。申請希望者は申請期限までに必要な書類を準備のうえ、窓口にて申請を行う必要があります。
なお、単位換算率は協定大学ごとに指定されています。

Course registration takes place after arrival in Japan. Information regarding the registration procedure and schedule will be provided after admission has been confirmed.
Students participating in the exchange program are required to maintain and complete at least 7 courses or 14 credits per semester.
Please note that if the total number of registered credits exceeds 20, additional fees will apply, even for students covered under tuition waiver agreements.

English Language Proficiency Requirements for Applicants to English-Taught Programs
英語プログラム参加希望者の語学要件

Applicants wishing to enroll in programs that include courses taught in English are required to submit proof of English language proficiency.
Submission of an English test score is mandatory unless the applicant holds a valid passport issued by a country where English is an official language.

英語による授業科目を履修するプログラムへの参加を希望する場合は、英語能力の証明が必須です。
公用語が英語である国の有効なパスポートを有する場合を除き、英語能力試験のスコア提出が必要となります。

• Only test scores obtained within two years prior to the time of application are considered valid.

This program requires a higher level of English proficiency.
Applicants to the English-language program may apply as long as they meet the required minimum score at the time of application.
However, students are strongly encouraged to obtain IELTS™ 6.5 or TOEFL® iBT 90 or higher (or Band Score 5) by the time of arrival in Japan. A higher level of proficiency is necessary to actively participate in classes and complete academic assignments in English.

本プログラムでは、より高い英語運用能力が求められます。
英語プログラムへの参加を希望する場合、出願時には 「必要スコア」を満たしていれば申請可能です。
ただし、来日までにIELTS™ 6.5またはTOEFL® iBT90点以上（またはバンドスコア5）を取得することを強く推奨します。授業への積極的な参加や英語による課題への対応には、より高い運用能力が必要となるためです。

Enrollment in Courses Taught in a Different Language
所属プログラムの開講言語と異なる言語による科目履修について

Students enrolled in the English-taught program who wish to take courses conducted in Japanese, as well as students enrolled in the Japanese-taught program who wish to take courses conducted in English, may submit proof of proficiency in the second language; however, it is optional for courses offered by the Faculty of Law or the Graduate School of Law.
Students may decide whether to enroll in such courses based on their own language ability.
However, if students wish to take courses offered by other faculties or graduate schools, they must meet the language requirements (specified test scores) designated by the respective faculty or graduate school.

英語プログラム参加者が日本語で開講される科目の履修を希望する場合、または日本語プログラム参加者が英語で開講される科目の履修を希望する場合でも、法学部・法学研究科が開講する科目については、第二言語の語学能力証明の提出は任意です。
履修するかどうかは、自身の語学力を踏まえて判断してください。
ただし、他学部・他研究科が開講する科目を履修する場合は、当該言語について当該学部・研究科が指定する語学要件（指定スコア）を満たしている必要があります。

Certificate of Eligibility
在留資格認定証明書

The Certificate of Eligibility (COE) is a document issued by the Immigration Services Agency of Japan and is required to obtain a student visa. Information regarding the COE application procedure will be provided by the Office of the Faculty and Graduate School of Law after admission has been confirmed.

在留資格認定証明書（COE）は、日本の出入国在留管理庁が発給する書類で、留学ビザの取得に必要です。COE申請手続きについては、受入決定後に法学部・法学研究科事務室から別途ご案内します。

Accommodation
住居

Doshisha University has off-campus student dormitories; however, the number of available rooms is limited, and priority is generally given to degree-seeking undergraduate students.
To assist students from our partner universities, the Office of the Faculty and Graduate School of Law independently arranges accommodation in private and public student residences. Detailed information regarding accommodation options will be provided after admission.
Students may also arrange their own accommodation independently. Please note that the university does not provide assistance in securing privately arranged housing.

同志社大学には学生寮がありますが、入居可能な部屋数には限りがあり、学部正規学生が優先されます。
そこで、協定大学からの留学生を支援するため、法学部・法学研究科事務室では民間学生寮および公営学生寮の紹介を行っています。住居の詳細については、受入決定後にご案内します。
また、学生自身で住居を手配することも可能です。ただし、個人で手配する住居については、大学による住居手配の支援は行っていません。

Students participating in the Dual Degree Program are, in principle, supervised by faculty members of the Graduate School of Law. However, depending on the research topic, supervision may be provided by faculty members of the Doshisha Law School.

Japanese Language & Culture Courses
日本語・日本文化科目

At Doshisha University, Japanese language and culture courses are divided into nine levels (Level 1 to Level 9). Your placement level will be determined based on the results of a placement test. As a general guideline, students who have passed the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) at the N2 level are usually placed in Level 4 or 5, while those with an N1 level are typically placed in Level 6 or 7.

We also offer a separate introductory course without credit for beginner students.

Credits earned from Japanese Language and Culture courses do not count toward graduation requirements.

同志社大学では、日本語・日本文化の授業はレベル1から9に分かれており、レベル判定テスト（プレースメントテスト）の結果に基づいて、履修可能なレベルが決まります。目安として、日本語能力試験（JLPT）のN2を取得している場合は、レベル4〜5、N1を取得している場合は、レベル6〜7に判定されることが一般的です。
